    What does a permanent cosmetic procedure involve?

    We will run through a thorough consultation prior to your initial treatment to check for any contraindications and to answer any questions you may have. Once we have completed your initial permanent cosmetic procedure you will be required to return 6-8 weeks later  for your adjustment visit to top up faded colour and make any little improvements. Permanent cosmetics is a two step process and We don’t consider your procedure completed until after you have received an adjustment visit.


    Does it hurt?

    Boutique Beauty & Massage use high quality and effective topical numbing products to ensure our clients experience minimal discomfort and the treatment is as pain free as possible.

    How long will the procedure take?

    Most procedures will take between 2- 3 hours. We will advise you of the exact timing in the consultation process.

    What happens after my treatment?

    The colour of your treatment will initially look darker than you expect. This is completely normal and will usually last for about 5 to 7 days. In the 6-8 weeks after your procedure your permanent cosmetics will have settled down into a nice soft and muted colour. You may experience a little bit of tenderness around the area treated and minimal swelling which usually disappears within 24-48 hours. You will receive an aftercare pack to take home after your initial treatment which includes aftercare product and instructions.


    What happens to the hair on eyebrows when I have tattooing?

    We do not remove any eyebrow hair unless we are shaping the brows to enhance the eyebrow design or shape. We DO NOT wax or shave off the eyebrows before any eyebrow procedures.


    Maintaining your Permanent makeup 

    It is recommended to have top up treatment every 18-24 months to freshen up the colour of your permanent cosmetics and to keep it looking at its best. Hairstroke and microstroking procedures are an exception and are recommended to have a freshen up appointment every 12-18 months.

    All Boutique Beauty & Massage clients will receive 30% off the original treatment price for their top up appointment when they come back  in within 12-24 months. 


    Booking recommendations

    When booking your permanent cosmetic procedure please keep in mind that the area will look darker at first and the skin may be a little swollen or sensitive. Because everyones results vary we don’t recommend having your cosmetic tattooing procedure before any big events or holidays.

    Permanent cosmetics are applied by implanting organic or inorganic pigments into the skin via tattooing or micro stroking to create balance, colour and shape to the face for a long period of time. We have a variety of pigment options to tailor to everyone’s skin undertones and colour preferences to create your own personalized look. One major difference between cosmetic tattooing and normal tattooing is that tattooists use inks which lay deeper within the skin making them harder if not impossible to remove. Cosmetic tattooing should last from 1-5 years untouched depending on the individuals skin type, skin care products and treatments, amount of sun exposure and medical conditions. Clients who opt to have the Microblading or hair strokes procedure are an exception as this method will only last 12-18 months and will require adjustment visits on a more regular basis.
